Our Top 3 Cleaning Products We’re Obsessed with Right Now

If you’ve ever wondered what cleaners the cleaners use, this one’s for you.

At Spritz Cleaning Co, we’re in homes all over Canberra and the NSW surrounds every week – which means we get to road-test a lot of products. Some are meh, some are okay… and some earn a permanent spot in our kit.

Today we’re sharing three cleaning products we genuinely love and use all the time: why we rate them, how we use them, and where they shine.

Not sponsored, not gifted – just our honest favourites right now.

1. Sabco Clean Ease Flat Mop & Wringer Set – Our Bathroom & Hard Surface MVP

This one is a workhorse. The Sabco Clean Ease Flat Mop Wringer Set has a dual-chamber bucket – one side for washing the pad, one side for wringing it out – so you’re not just sloshing dirty water around.

We LOVE it because:

  • It works brilliantly with hot water and a dash of dish liquid
  • It’s perfect for residential spaces, especially:
    • Bathroom floors
    • Tiled walls
    • Any painted wall that needs a gentle freshen
    • Doors and skirting
    • Hard floors (vinyl, tiles, sealed floorboards – always check manufacturer care instructions)
  • The flat mop head gets into corners and along edges really well
  • The pads are washable, so it’s low-waste and budget-friendly

For our Canberra and NSW clients, it’s a go-to when we’re doing a any type of clean. Once surfaces are clear, we can quickly refresh walls, doors and floors with this mop instead of endlessly bending and hand-wiping. How ergonomically conscious of us?

How we typically use it

  • Fill the bucket with hot water + a small squirt of dishwashing liquid
  • Dip and wash the pad on the “wash” side
  • Press it through the wringer side to control how damp it is
  • Work from top to bottom on walls and doors, then finish on the floors

It’s simple, effective, and much kinder on your back than scrubbing everything by hand.

2. Bar Keepers Friend – The Stainless Steel & Shower Screen Lifesaver

Next up: Bar Keepers Friend (BKF) – this one lives in our own homes as well as in our cleaning brains, rent-free.

We recently made the switch from non-stick pans to stainless steel in the household, and let’s be real:
we’re still learning the “non-sticky” stainless technique. Especially with eggs. And especially when you’re cooking with little or no oil.

Cue Bar Keepers Friend.

BKF uses oxalic acid (a mild acid naturally found in some plants) plus gentle abrasives to lift burnt-on food, stains, rust and mineral deposits from stainless steel, ceramic, glass and more. It’s widely recommended for stainless steel cookware when used as directed.

Why we love it

  • It rescues stainless steel pans that look completely ruined by stuck-on food
  • It’s amazing for egg disasters – those stuck patches that usually make you want to cry
  • It’s great in the bathroom, especially:
    • Shower screens
    • Chrome fixtures
    • Sinks and tiles (spot-test first!)
  • It feels relatively low-tox compared to harsher bleach-based powders, while still being seriously effective

You usually don’t need to scrub like a maniac – the product does most of the work. It’s especially good at removing stainless steel pan stains and soap scum / mineral build-up on bathroom surfaces.

But important note on safety

While BKF is lower in harsh chemicals than some heavy-duty cleaners, it is not 100% toxin-free:

  • Don’t ingest it (ever)
  • Rinse cookware thoroughly after use
  • Avoid breathing in the powder – use in a ventilated area
  • Don’t mix it with bleach or ammonia – that combo can create toxic fumes
  • Always follow the instructions on the label and spot-test delicate surfaces

Used correctly, it’s a total game-changer for both kitchen stainless steel and bathroom glass/fixtures.

3. Razor Blade Scrapers – For Satisfying Shower Screen Transformations

Last but not least: the humble razor blade scraper.

If you’ve been scrubbing at calcium water marks on your shower screen for what feels like forever, these little tools are a revelation. Used carefully, a razor scraper can physically lift off limescale and mineral build-up that regular scrubbing and chemicals just can’t touch.

Why they’re in our kit

  • No chemicals – just a blade and a good technique
  • Brilliant for built-up calcium and hard water marks on shower glass
  • Incredibly eco-friendly and low-tox, because you’re relying on mechanical action, not harsh cleaners
  • The results are so satisfying – you can literally see the cloudy build-up scraping away

How we like to use them (safely)

  • Always use a proper scraper handle – never just hold the blade in your fingers
  • Apply a bit of soapy water or cleaner as lubrication
  • Keep the blade flush to the glass at a shallow angle to reduce scratching risk
  • Work slowly and carefully, especially on edges
  • Keep out of reach of kids, and replace blades when they dull

We also recommend checking your shower screen manufacturer’s advice if you’re unsure – most standard glass can handle careful scraping, but some coated or specialty glass may not.

Why We Share Our Product Faves

As professional cleaners working across Canberra and the NSW surrounds, we know it can be overwhelming trying to choose from hundreds of products on the shelf.

These three have earned a permanent spot in our kit because they help us:

  • Work faster and smarter in client homes
  • Get better results on bathrooms, stainless steel and hard surfaces
  • Keep our cleaning as low-tox and eco-conscious as possible, without sacrificing results

If you want to copy our kit at home, these are a brilliant starting point. Equally, if you’d like us to trial a product, let us know the product and why – we love trying to find the best on the market.
